I have successfully configured my ESP8266 WiFi Shield RB-Mkf-14 with my Arduino, I would like to know if it is possible to update the Firmware in on this ESP8266 shield ?
According to the manual, the chip itself can be upgraded to AT commands. On the other hand, the setup of the module is in a shield and so it will be prob. not possible to do this (according to this link: https://www.electronicshub.org/update-flash-esp8266-firmware/):
All this assumes that the shield uses a standard version of the firmware and that changing the version is not going to brick it / reduce the available features (possible).
So, unless you have a really good reason to change firmware, I do not advise doing that.
