Emergency urgent help needed for l6 arm and ps2 control

i am trying to controller the older model of the L6 arm remotely with a PS2 controller…i have already connected the SSC32 to my computer and set all the configurations and specs but i dont know how to connect the actual PS2 cables to the Mini ABB…i have purshased the little PS2 connector cable but i dont know where every thing goes on the bot board…also i dont know how to connect the two together (the SSC 32 and the Mini ABB)…the list of hardware and electronics i have are the Mini Atom Bot Board the SSC32 card and a Basic Stamp 28 pin…please help and thank you…are there specific locations for the jumpers also please just label everything on the pictures) and again thank you so much

Look on page 2 of the booklet or get it from the guide on the electronics page…
it shows where the playstation controller goes…

the ssc-32 booklet shows the data cble hook up too…

ck the forums and look in the prospective titles…SSC-32 stuff and botboard stuff…

its all there

  1. The first box is simply telling you to put VL (5vdc) onto the power bus for I/O pins 4-7.

  2. The next box is telling you to connect VS1 to VS2, this simply connects the VS (servo voltage) from VS1 to VS2. It allows servos on both sides of the SSC-32 to be powered from either VS1 or VS2.

  3. This is telling you to set the baud rate jumpers for 38.4k This is the highest baud rate suported by the Basic Atom controller.

  4. This is telling you to remove the two shorting bars on the SSC-32’s DB9 enable to enable TTL serial coms. You will use the data cable to connect the SSC-32 to the Bot Board.

If you are using the Bot Board II then you need to move the PS2 controller from pins 4-7 to 12-15, and move the serial output from pin 15 on the Bot Board II to pin 9. You must make these physical changes as well as change the pins used in the program. Hope this helps.

Ok i think i have everything hooked up correctly i made a diagram of what i did. Can you check it and make corrections.

thanks in advance

I hooked it up like the above picture but RIOS does not find the ssc-32 card.

hi
these connections are right if your running the arm by the botboard…

except you need a jumper on the first block for a baud rate of 38400

if you look on the next pages of the booklet you’ll see the correct baud setting…

BUT IF YOU WANT TO go to the serail connection to the PC you have to enable the comm port for PC communications…and rest the baud setting too…

ON the same page as the baud setting is the correct jumper block setting for this…you cant have the botboard hooked up at the same time…

there is a post that shows how to use a switch to change back and forth
but i dont know where that is…ill try to find it and post if need be…
