Electronics for AWD1 rover kit

Hi I am new to this stuff and am looking to build a camera rover to be used for inspections.
I am somewhat familiar with UAV technology having built a couple of DJI F450 quad copters using a AR12020 spektrum receiver and E300 speed controllers with the Naza V2 flight controller and a DX8
transmitter.
My question is can I make a AWD1 rover kit work with the electronics I have on hand in my quad copter?

Thanks for your assistance!

Hi Mr Uttley,

It’s possible to use a R/C transmitter and receiver to control an A4WD1 Rover. We even sell a Lynxmotion Aluminum A4WD1 Kit for RC with a Spektrum system.

You can get the basic kit and add the needed components for a fully working model:
Lynxmotion Aluminum A4WD1 Rover Kit

Sabertooth Dual 12A 6V-24V R/C Regenerative Motor Driver

You might want to use a LiPo that you already have and that’s fine.
The receiver will be powered from the Sabertooth internal BEC.

Thanks Eric,
So if I purchase the RB-Lyn-63 and the Sabertooth motor driver I can use my receiver, transmitter and lipos and get a unit up and running without needing anything else, correct?
Just want to make sure I order everything I need.

Thanks,
Mr Uttley

The A4WD come with a Tamiya connector wiring harness so you will have to match the connector with whatever your LiPo have.
We have the Deans Battery Connector if needed.

Other than that you should be fine.

Hi Eric,
One other question in regards to the pulling strength of the rover.
If the rover was mounted vertically on linear bearings with wheels firmly contacting the surface, would it have enough strength to climb vertically with a 2 to 3 lb payload?

Thanks
Mr Uttley

There are no specification based on that kind of test.
