I’m trying to find out if a device exists, similar to a DC motor, but rather then having a revolving shaft, the shaft would extend when its signaled.
Basically I’m wondering if an electronic piston exists? Ideally I’d like it to have a stroke of less than 1 inch and rather fast extension. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Ok so I looked into the actuators on the site. I found one that I think would work however I am curious what the dimensions of this actuator are, they aren’t posted on the products page. How can I get this information without buying the device?
Poduct Info-Firgelli Technologies PQ-12s “high speed” Miniature Linear Actuator
Product Number-RB-Fir-01
Hi Newrobo621,
Welcome to the RobotShop Forum. Did you ever see Linear Actuators? These are essentially “electronic pistons” and they come in a variety of sizes. Some have position feedback while others do not.
Hope this helps,
If you select the “useful links” tab, in the product’s description, the datasheet has a dimensional diagram.
