My question here is, what exaclty is the benefit of having a EEPROM chip on thee SSC-32, and which chip is recommended for use with say… a 12 servo SCOUT?
I looked on the forums and found nothing of great help. I know what EEPROM is, just not how to use it.
First Note: I believe all newer SSC-32s already have an EEPROM on them.
The main purpose for the EEPROM is to store and retrieve data. In the case of the SSC-32 it is used to store sequences. These sequences are often created by the program SEQ or the member Zenta has a spreadsheet that you can use to create sequenes for Phoenix like hexapods.
2nd Note: there are specific versions of the firmware that is required to run sequences. I believe you still need to updated it from the one that ships by default on the SSC-32. Instructions and firmware can be found on the SSC-32 product page.
