Dual vevor motors setup using Roboteq Controller?

I have 2 48V 1800W vevor motors one the controllers that came with the kits was burnt out. I am looking to see if one of the controllers here can be substituted for that controllers. I am also very interested in using one controller for both motors If that is possible.

Hi @mrperry and welcome to our forum.

Do you have the datasheet for these motors? Are they BLDC or brushed DC motors?

Also, which method for controlling of the motors you are using now? RC, serial, analogue, or something else?

Vevor motor Spec Sheet.pdf (2.0 MB)

Heres the spec sheet if that is unable to be opened then I’ve also linked the page where they were purchased from below. They are BLDCs, I am picking up this project from a design group from the previous year. they used an analogue potentiometer controller with two paddles they also burnt out one the controllers that came with the motors originally so I am looking for a better replacement. Ideally, the control system will be able to run both motors with identical speeds and another setting where one can move forward and the other in reverse for wide-angle turns. There is no control system on it as of this moment as the old one was scrapped.

Hi @mrperry ,

Thank you for the details.

It seems that this is a BLDC motor, so you can see which BLDC motor controllers we have here:

My recommendation from RoboteQ would be this one:

It should easily support your two motors. Regarding control, it supports following:
• USB, Serial, 0-5V Analog, or Pulse (RC radio) command
modes
• One RS232 serial port
• CAN bus interface up to 1Mbit/switch multiple protocol
support
• RS485
