Is it safe to drill holes near the front of the v2 board? In front of the proto area? Just want to be clear that there is no active circuitry in this area of the pcb.
Great thanks. I think I’ll be fine drilling. Got home just in time to go to sleep probably no photo for a few days. Hopefully once I get these next two sensors attached I’ll make a video of it in action.
Drilled with no problems. Ir sensor attached to the front and facing down in order to detect stairs or other drop offs. Up next an accelerometer to detect when it is starting to flip backwards so it can correct itself. Once that is done I’ll make a short video of it utilizing all of its sensors.
Just to be certain, can you include an image of where you want to drill the hole(s)? The only traces at the front of the board are for the two blue LEDs. The outer two columns of holes (on each side) in the solder prototyping area are connected to GND and 5V, but no worries there.
