Dozer Bot 3D printed using Inventor Autocad as the design program

Hello.

My journey has led me to this website.
I started about 3 months ago building an Otto robot and now I can proudly say from what I learned using Otto blockly I was able to create the Dozer bot. I am constantly changing and making this robot better with each 3D print and improvement as I learn new things.
All of the designs are mine except Otto Blockly. I don’t like to code but I can program all day long using graphics. To me, I think that this is the future of robotics. Remember when we had to learn hexadecimal code before we had gem top or windows 3.1. I grew up with Pong and atari. I went to war with commodore and apple back then taking apart xl drives and running double density. Those were the days.
So why not use Otto blockly to program. My friend Camilo keeps on improving his program, and I love to use everything he codes.
Dozer bot is the result of this program. I want to share with you what I created. I don’t like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. I like old fashion forums like this one.
I don’t plan to sell this, this is my pet project to learn about robotics using a 3D printed body with Arduino electronics. If you like this please tell me so, if you don’t please be kind in the comments is all I ask.

Dozer was designed to be a modular robot. This project began with many various models and prototypes before settling on this final design. I believe that Dozer is capable of going further than my knowledge of blockly. I don’t know code and don’t plan too.
Long as there are programs like blockly that are graphical. I will always try and design new and improved models.
I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I did in making Dozer.

Hello @DozerBot and welcome to the RobotShop forum!

That is a nice looking robot :robot:

I hope you’ll be sharing some videos of what it can do

I’ve never used blockly before but I’ve seen videos of it and it certainly seems really easy to use so I can see why you like it so much haha

Also, it would be awesome if you share more info on how you made it in the Robots section, there you can also find the projects of other users and maybe get some inspiration

Nice one @DozerBot

WIll you share your 3D models from Inventor somewhere online?

Hi and Thanks for the compliments.

I would like to know how this forum works. Do I just add to this post my videos and developments I learn along the way and create a storyline?
Or do I make a new post in various columns? Each forum has its own set of rules.

With that out of the way, What would you recommend, should add a link for a youtube video and share this on here. Or does this forum allow for embedded videos straight from the computer?

I would love to share how I use blockly from Otto blocky. I believe that Camilo can make it just as good the code itself.

As to sharing the files, I don’t mind sharing, but I must warn you I never built this as a model to sell or make more than one of. I learned alot from my other prototypes that I was able to apply to this design. It is by no means a complete, “print out the box” robot.

I would like to know how this forum works.

Here is a summary of the forum sections and what they are for:

Forums Section
If you want to discuss, talk about specific things with members, ask questions, etc. There are multiple categories and subcategories; we try to respect them. We are allowed to move topics. Anything that doesn’t fit in the big sections or that is Conversation oriented, like just ideas, issues, advice, suggestions, questions, should go there.

Tutorials Section
From general notions, basic or advanced concepts, to How to’s, Tutorials are intended to educate. A tutorial is not about a specific project but rather about the general knowledge and information needed in order to help members eventually create projects. They usually help people get started in robotics, learn how to program, how to use CAD
software, understand basic electronic principles, etc.

Robots Section
A robot project post is mainly about showcasing a robotic creation, which can be anything that fits with the definition of a robot! From robotic arms to line-following robots, members share the finished project, their brainstorming and/or design process as well as the technical aspects of the build. It’s about sharing your creation, your thinking process, the steps involved, lessons learned and techniques!

Blogs Section
A good way to stay informed! Keep up to date on the robotics fields, read experts’ opinions on a variety of topics: news, ethics, foresights. The blog section is where thoughts, reflections and ideas, from members, collaborators or from RobotShop come to life! Write on developments in the field; research, reviews, recommendations, experience, interviews, essays, etc.’’

Do I just add to this post my videos and developments I learn along the way and create a storyline?

Yes, you can do that or you could also create a “Robot” post which is a more organized way of sharing your project and it also helps other users who are searching for a similar project for guidance. And you can always update that post to add new features or fix bugs.

However, if you have questions on how to improve your project or want some feedback the forum is the best place.

What would you recommend, should add a link for a youtube video and share this on here. Or does this forum allow for embedded videos straight from the computer?

You can do either, however, some users have experienced errors when uploading directly from their computer so the best option is to upload it to youtube and share the link here.

I would love to share how I use blockly from Otto blocky. I believe that Camilo can make it just as good the code itself.

This would be awesome as well! You could even do a tutorial about this if you like.

As to sharing the files, I don’t mind sharing, but I must warn you I never built this as a model to sell or make more than one of.

Oh, don’t worry about it haha. Again, this is more for people who are looking for a similar project and need some help. This is not meant to be recreated (unless a user wants to do it), it would serve more as a guide for other people who want to learn.

I hope this clears up your doubts

I hope to see you often on the forum!
