Do i need a raspberry Pi with me to interface with the robot for changing code etc?

Hi, I was checking out DarkPaw and found out it doesn’t include a raspberry pi board in the kit.
I wanted to know if its absolutely necessary to have one inorder to alter or upload a different program etc

Yes, the Raspberry Pi is required in order to control this robot as shown in the tutorial below:

You will also need 2x18650 batteries to power it up.

Quick question, so what can the robot do after assembly and with batteries?
Is it like the RB Pi board is necessary to finish the assembly?

The Raspberry Pi is basically the brain of this robot so without it, the robot will not work.
