I have been working hard on my latest project, thought you might be interested too.
This is a universal DIY robotic remote controller that uses XBee or Ciesco XRF for wireless communication. I also aim to develop an open source Arduino library that can be easily modified to suit different remote controller configuration.
Hopefully at the end, this remote controller can be used in all sorts of robots and projects that requires manual control.
I divided the project into a few tasks. It's not completed yet, but I have got to the stage that it's working :-) and successfully controlling a robot.
1. Hardware, Electronics and Software
2. Communication Protocol Design
3. Calibrating and Improvements
4. Follow Up
This controller uses Arduino Mega as the Micro-controller. Other parts as below:
- Toggle Switch x 4
- 2-Axis Joystick x 2
- Potentio Meter x 4
- Push Button x 6
- LED x 3
- LCD x 1
- Ciesco XRF Wireless Modules x 2
Let me know if you have any better idea or any questions.
