Where did you get them…?
Whom or what do you mean?
I wonder where did you get thoses handwheels ?
I havent bought them yet because i havent had a good idea how to attach them to EMC.
Check out the link and you see the dealer.
ok, now better.
unfortunately have no complete picture for them but like to create something too.
my idea was to use additional PC card with 2nd LPT port for inputs and simple monostable generator based on 555 chip.
this wheel will trigger pulses with attached encoder or something and startup generator. + some swithes to change axis and bit searching in EMC config files to make it working.
in “big” world this thing is named JOG controller may be that helps.
other thing temporarily have no time to play with that (RC models season) so using keyboard
What kind of RC you do ?
now training 450 class heli, before some 1:8 off-road with gas engine but no championships or something
@DiaLFonZo - What program did you use to design the casing in your first post ? Solidworks ? Its quite neat how you have the Xbee’s and arduinos placed inside the case.
Yes it’s Solidworks.
Thanks…
Didn’t look at that for a long time… but would be nice to continue…
Did you make the xbees, gimbals, keypad, and arduino from scratch or were they available in a library ?
by the way i got to say that i love your design and im going to be designing mine quite similar to yours. thanks for sharing your work
There is many things that i need to change to make it good.
The top knob are too far and can’t be reach while holding the transmitter in hand
Also i would make it a bit smaller…
Some things…
Zach,
Just noticed your July post.
Which Heli?
I bought and am currently assembling an Align TREX 450 Sport V2 heli. I’ll be using a Futaba T7C radio.
How’s your training progressing? Can you hover?

Align ia a dream. quite expensive for me.
using HK450 Pro or GT don’t remember exactly but with belt anyway. hovering is a bit magic for me still but have no much time for play with it. thinking about to buy flybarless system and 3 axis gyro stabilization may be than will do some progress.
Yeah, I’m still hesitant to fly the 450! Flybarless sounds interesting, although even more expensive.

Bigger = easier
My 500 is far easier to fly than my 450
That’s what I’ve heard.
I’m currently putting all my efforts into my 6WD autonomous 'bot “HexaTraxx Moose” for Robomagellan. With all the sensory data, I decided to go to ROS running on Linux. That’s a BIG learning curve!

Hi
I think we have re-invented @dialfonzo 's wheel.
I hope you do not mind me sharing this here but If you mind please do let me know to remove it. I was just hoping to help others who were interested in this project but did not manage to get their hands on one.
My team and I have been making custom made remote controllers since our university days and it was such a pain. After graduation we decided to make one remote controller with full focus on robotics community. We started writing code and making prototypes after prototypes but we were not going very far. So, I dropped everything literary and started working full time on it. Now, we are ready to bring the remote to the market through crowdfunding. So, we are finding people who would be interested in our project to make sure they know about our campaign once it is live. I would really appreciate if you could help us by spreading the words as well.
We called the remote controller " Alpha V1".
