DIY FPV Tank Setup with my Dad

Hi!

I require your help regarding a problem I’m encountering.

Description:
I am a beginner it all meanings of the word. I thin my dad would have fun with an fpv tank or offroad vehicle of some kind, and also think he’d have more fun being able to build it. I was looking at a few kits, but not entirely sure what I should be making sure is included in a kit, or what I need. I don’t have a lot of money, and so was probably looking to just make an rc tank chassi for now with ability to add FPV later.

Before making any suggestions, do you have an idea of how much you’d feel comfortable spending on the platform itself, then on the FPV aspect? There are some inexpensive FPV kits (~$100 to $200) which include a headset with built-in screen, integrated receiver and a matched transmitter and camera (and sometimes battery) which you can add after the fact. Careful to pay close attention to what’s included in a mobile kit, as often times it is only the frame, motors, hubs and wheels, and you’ll need to add a motor controller, wiring, battery, charger.
