What is the maximum distance available of the Transmitter Receiver Pair RB-See-11? It this usable for a
simple on/off coltrol function?

Welcome to the RobotShop Forum. “At 9 VDC input the communication range is approximately 300 m to 500 m in open air.”
You should have no issues using it for On/Off.
