What’s the best way to track direction and distance of a token? I’m looking for to build a platform that follows a user who carries a specific unique token (no computervision etc needed). Can i do that with some rfid sensor and token?

Hi,
I found something from this video which seems to use ping sensors. But it relies on visual connection, which is not really optimal. There seems to be possibilities for doing this using rfid like this locator device, but as you said not necessarily in your inventory.
If we’d try to think outside of the box / inventory does anyone have any thoughts of what’s the best place to start? Triangulating an rfid / rf token signal perhaps?
I would have assumed that following an electronic token casting a signal would have been pretty straight forward these days, but perhaps it’s not that straight forward as I’d like it to be?
Without using a vision system it is very difficult to track an object. Unfortunately all RFID antennas we have are not meant to localize tags.
