Dear Lynxmotion Support Team,
I just received my SSC32 and all basic test are ok. Thanks for this great product!
I plan to use some Output with the command: Discrete Output.
I want to drive a relay with this or some leds.
Is it possible to know how much current can be gather from the IO pins ?
Is there a limitations by port?
I look in the documentation but did not find the answer.
Relay and led will be drived by transistor and freewheel diode of course.
regards.
fairly certain the outputs are 74HC series logic. normally these can sink around 16 to 24ma to gnd and source 4 to 8 ma from 5V. so turning on an LED or two is easy enough if you wire them up active low, and there is plenty of drive for a transistor turning on a relay coil.
The SSC-32 uses a 74HC595 as the outputs. That part is limited to 35mA per pin, but a max of 70mA per device, (each bank of 8 outputs.) We will update the manual with this information. I thought it was already there.
