I have a discovery that needed a new battery. I finally got around to getting on and was ready for my robot to do it’s thing.
When I set it to go, it is very loud, and I don’t remember it being quite that loud, and it scanned and worked for about 5 minutes until we got the uh-oh one beep. I cleaned the surface and brushes and got the same thing. So my hubby opened it up and cleaned all the gunk out and put it back together. We got to five minutes again and uh-oh one beep.
Is there something more we should do? Or another area to clean?
The robot gets this error when there is over-resistance or overcurrent on the robots brush motor. Do you get this error when the brushes are not installed in the robot?
If the error does not manifest without the brushes, we would suggest to verify the brushes once more. We suggest removing the yellow brush bearings on the sides of the brushes and removing any debris under the bearings. You will see that hair and debris accumulate underneath and the brushes become harder to turn.
If the yellow brush bearings and brush casing are clean, we would suggest replacing the brush motor.
