Hello all, newbie here. I have a Discovery 4310 (assume the Canadian version of 4210) that ran fairly long until battery finally gave up. I replaced battery and it charged as normal until I went to use it. The light was green until I unplugged charger and then nothing, no lights,no charge and once I plugged charger back into it it began to charge again and then same thing. I have tried my batteries in my friends roomba and they do work.I’ve tried the battery reset procedure to no avail.I’ve tried testing the charger and it works.I’ve taken Roomba apart and fully inspected and cleaned it. I have been told by several “experts” that I should change the mother board/circuit board. I was going to order one but not sure which one to get. It has the old style stationary wheel. By the way, I’ve never heard a peep out of mine.I have heard that Oh! Oh! can be heard when it’s stuck and in need of a charge. Looking for some advice please.
Thanks
Thanks for your reply Vahon. Yes, I checked the charger with my multimeter. I’ll also check the speaker. Thanks again, I will order the board and hopefully respond with some good news.
Good morning swanny17,
Welcome to the RobotShop forum!
It does sound like something may be wrong with your motherboard. The motherboard for a non-swivel caster wheel can be found here.
And just to confirm, when you tested your charger, we’re assuming you used a multimeter. You should have gotten 22.5V approximately.
The robot normally beeps when you press any button to show it accepted the command. When it gets stuck it usually gives an ‘uh-oh’ tone followed by a specific number of beeps which tell you what is wrong with the robot. When the battery dies, it gives a four tone ‘song’ that is specific to the battery dying. When this happens, the power light is flashing red also. If your robot is not beeping at all, it may need a new speaker also.
Hope this helps,
