Did I receive bad servos?

HI everyone,

I’m building the AL5A arm. However after I assembled the arm and tested the 6 servos one by one, I found two of the servos (shoulder HS-755HB and elbow HS-645MG) both making the arm shaking/vibrating and making noise, while doing their supposed movement.

At first I thought it was the problem my assembly and I took off these two servos and tested them without any accessories, but they still don’t behave silently and smoothly like the other 4 servos. What these two servos did was making the whole servo trembling, making noise and move unsmoothly, when I tested by draging the bar in the software Lynxterm.

So is it possible that I did something wrong in assembling and damaged them, or it’s more likely that they arrived bad? If Is there any easy way to fix or just by new ones?

Thank you guys very much for answering my basic questions!

It’s unlikely that you could have damaged them during assemble, unless you were very brutal and forced the servos to fast by hand, or by moving the servo slider bar excessively.

The shoulder and elbow servos are the most critical servos with in arm. And to have both of these servos fail is very suspect. I’m not saying you have done anything, its just very coincidental.

I’m not quite sure what can be done about this.

Can you make video of these bad servos. So we can see exactly what they are doing… or not doing. And compare them to the good ones.
