Did i burn my arduino

hi,

i accidently touched the 5v and the gnd of the arduino togethe for less than a sec

but it disconnected from the computer and refuses to be programmed or to execute tge current program

the reset button is working when i press is the led 13 blinks and then stays on

but no programming is accepted

what did i burn?

avrdude : stk500_getsync():not in sync: resp=0x00

It is probably burnt it’s okay you can buy another ATmega 328 and pop it in; the fix is less than 5 dollars.

Well the the board itself is probably not damaged since it can be quite resiliant, but the ATmega is a sensitive IC so a short circuit can easily release the magic smoke.
