DiaLFonZo - DIY Remote (Using Kurte code)

I worked with this before: ladyada.net/products/microtouch/ and i did a full interface with it… Even tough that may be over kill… I think it should be fairly easy to generate few menus, and touch buttons.

On this touch screen: sparkfun.com/products/11075 the only thing we need to do is switch it from gfx mode to sgc mode so we can use the library

I have the dfrobot mega and shield, i also got few xbess around… I would have to buy at least one joystick and figure out which screen would fit the large 4.3" (sparkfun.com/products/8537)

I can buy it tonight and have it here by thursday… Use kurte code, and modify it a bit (for it to work with the touch screen) and we go from there

Edit: here is a comparison between all 3 embeddedcomputing.weebly.com/sam … reens.html

Im sure we can fit alot of info/buttons on the 4.3" but it may be a bit to big for the controller:

Module dimensions: 105.5 x 67.0 x 14.7mm
(not including mounting tabs).

shop.4dsystems.com.au/serial-dis … -1010.html

so go with the 3.2? sparkfun.com/products/10089

shipping is less using sparkfun… 4dsystems want like $31 to ship it to the US

Any of you guys good with a cad software? to like put up a prototype so see how it will look with the bigger screen compared with the small one?

You know RobotShop… They buy Lynxmotion… :stuck_out_tongue:

Sure i will do some sketch…

Good find, didnt know they had it… Ill wait for the sketchs and then order either the 3 or the 4" depending

to be honest this looks cool:

KURTE…!!!

I just quickly added the hole for it…

thats the 4.3"?

YES::: I have the 3.2" purchased through Sparkfun… My test code as shown in: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=7422&start=126
I was running with two Nunchucks for inputs and then some real simple buttons… Been awhile since I tried it out. Will take me awhile to get back to it… May start off using one of my Seeduino Mega boards again to drive it. Or maybe the Leonardo… But don’t have any shields for it to make it easier to wire up the IO pins. So will probably stick with mega.

Kurt

P.S. - I changed mine to horizontal mode, but…

but?

That’s the 3.2

Can you send me the solidworks file, so i can play a bit with it? thanks

ok then the 4.3 wont even fit

Ill order the 3.2" in a bit.

Just do you own… Mouahaha… :stuck_out_tongue:
DiaLFonZo - DIY Remote V2 - Top Plate.zip (445 KB)

I was looking to order one a couple of weeks ago…
But if the project is kick starting…

Also im wondering if we could use the axon II board… Very powerfull (more than mega imo) and smaller size wise…

societyofrobots.com/axon2/

i have one of them handy, so once i get the screen ill try with it…

Again… i would like to keep it Arduino
