DFRobot USB to TTL card

I have a sabertooth 2X25 drive we are using for an application at our plant. I need to change the curves on it to slow it down. The tech support folks at Dimensions adviced me to purchase a DFRobot USB to TTL card from Robot Shop to so the DEScribe software on my computer can download new curves into the sabertooth drive. I have a few questions about the USB to TTL card I purchased.

  1. Do I need any drivers to use the card

  2. Looking at the DEScribe software, it looks like it uses COM port #1 and the USB to TTL card has a USB connector on it. Do I need to get a particular cable to connect my computer to the card and if so can anyone suggest a cable that will work.

  3. Is there any kind of setup I need to do with the DEScribe software to make it communicate with the USB to TTL Card.

Any suggestions anyone might have will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

]Yes, you will need the FTDI drivers/:m]
]The USB adapter will create a serial (COM) port on your computer. You will need to connect the RX and TX lines form the adapter to the TX and RX lines on the controller respectively. You can do so by using regular wires./:m]
]We are not directly familiar with the Describe software or your setup, so we cannot be certain if you need to do any adjustments./:m]
