I want to use DFRobot Sound Sensor Product Code : RB-Dfr-38 with vex cortex. Is this possible? I want to create a Binaural sound sensor to have robot move towards a sound.
The Cortex is a nice controller in that it uses standard 0.1" spaced pinout. The DFRobot sensor has a small white JST connector but includes an adapter cable so you can in fact plug it into 0.1" spaced headers. Double-check the pin assignment (V GND and Signal) before connecting. If they don’t line up, you can carefully remove the pins from the DFRobot 3-pin connector and change their position so they match that of the Cortex.
i got both DFRobot Sound Sensor and Sound Detector Board. I got them both to work with a tutorial on spark fun (learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/do … okup-guide). I plug them into the analog plug of a Vex Cortex 2.0 and i get numbers in the range of 50-200. if i go right up to the sensor it seems to respond, but it doesn’t when far away.
