DFRobot Romeo All-in-one compatibility

I need 8 analog ports. Is the DFRobot Romeo largely compatible with Arduinos from the software development perspective? And, is there a sensor shield for it? Or, is it better just to go with the arduino mega and the available shield.

Hi pjsquared,

Welcome to the RobotShop Forum. The ROMEO does have 8 analog pins (0 to 5 are located in the same place as all other Arduinos) while 6 and 7 are located near the barrel connector (same section as the Vin, 3.3V, 5V and GND pins), providing a total of 8 analog pins. The ROMEO is directly compatible with the Arduino software (based on either the 168 or 328 chips) and is shield compatible. With the ROMEO, you don’t need a sensor shield since all the pins also have a 5V and GND line (same as standard servo motors and many sensor cables). If you want to consider a sensor shield, theI/O Expansion board is attractive.

Hope this helps,
