DFI sensor not working

Hi!

I require your help regarding a problem I’m encountering.

Description:
Hi
The DFI sensor or my LR3 stopped working. I keep getting constant flashing blue light.
I went through all the troubleshooting steps including cleaning the sensor and trying to run the robot without the waste box but nothing helps.
After one cycle the robot thinks its full.
I’ve replaced the DFI sensor about a year ago after having a similar problem.
Is there some kind of warranty for the sensor?
Is it possible to disable it all together?

Hardware concerned:
Litter Robot 3 - Serial Number 041767
I have the new sensor without the hole in the middle.

Troubleshooting steps already taken:
Followed the steps in the blog post including cleaning the sensor, trying to run the robot without the litter box. Nothing helps.

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Hello @kostyay,

Welcome to RobotShop community.

We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Litter-Robot.

The warranty on the DFI sensor is 3 months.

Have you tried to clean the 2 green circuit boards of the sensor using isopropyl alcohol and a Q-Tip?

If not, please give it a try and let us know how it went.

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Hi
I have tried cleaning them and it didn’t help.

Hello @kostyay,

Thank you for your reply

In this case, the DFI sensor will need to be replaced.

We will also need to see the 3 pairs of contact pins shown in the following videos:
Anti-Pinch Pins:

Bonnet’s Pin:

Base’s Pin:

No need to take them out of the robot, we only need to see them from the outside.

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,
