So my DFI failed and I’m one month off warranty pretty awesome. So I’m ordering a new one when they get back in stock… But I have some questions on how this sensor functions. Is it optic-based sensors? Also, I’ll attach a photo of the failed one. I am wondering if I could use a PCB none electrical contact sealant to seal the board to maybe stop this from happening in the future not sure. I still have a bottle of MG Chemicals 422B Silicone Modified Conformal Coating, So I might give this a shot. Any ideas on if this would help protect the board so I’m not dropping 100 bucks every 20 months?

Can you check with your cellphone camera if you are getting IR light from the board?
