Hi I am having a difficulty working around connecting the DF-Bluetoothv3 to iPhone6s.
The problem is that the IPhone will not see the Bluetooth module at all. However I am able to pair up with the DF-Bluetoothv3 from a Windows 10 tablet. I also have tested this with another ios device and confirmed that Bluetooth doesn’t seem to appear there either. So I am wondering if there is some sort of compatibility problem with the ios devices but I have not been able find any information online confirming this. I have checked all the documentation but haven’t managed to find anything to help me.
I would appreciate. If you could point me to right direction with this problem
Hi,
It seems that you are using the RB-Dfr-10 Bluetooth module. Please note this module is a Bluetooth 2.0 module, as mentioned in the specifications. Unfortunately, iOS does not allow connection to modules of this version (without extra software on the platform side/non-trivial). To be able to be visible to an iOS device app directly, you would need instead a Bluetooth 4.0 BLE module (BLE stands for Bluetooth Low Energy) or newer.
You may be interested in alternative modules, such as RB-Suf-03 and RB-Dfr-546.
Sincerely,
