Desoldering tool

Just a quick tip for desoldering components. Usually it’s hard to use regular pliers to hold on to a wire and find the right spot on the other side of the board at the same time.  Then get at pair of Kelly forceps as you can lock them on the wire / pin and just concentrate on heating the right pad.

I really always have this

I really always have this problem, and I really would like to see a video of this - what is it that you do, excactly?

I don’t know if a video is

I don’t know if a video is needed, but this tool clamp on to the pin or component so you don’t need to keep tension on the plier itself. It’s dead easy to use.
As you see from the picture it’s locked onto a regular pin and gives me a good grip to pull it out when the solder is heated.

you can also get these in

you can also get these in fishing stores. popular among flyfishers.
