Here is a quick update related to this post about 3D printed robot enclosure.
Two videos below illustrate the goal - how it will looks like soon :-). And here is the first step into this direction - my first 3D-printed part of the enclosure shown in the video. Took me about the whole week from receiving the packet with Ultimaker kit till the first reasonable printout came out :-) .

I haven’t checked the video yet but I wonder which software you used to design the robot is it a CAD or sth else?
This is really cool stuff we can design the robot body ourself and then program to be live :D.

Yes, you are right. As it also mentioned in the previous post on this topic, the intent is to design and 3D print the enclosure for our robot.

I’ve ordered the 3D printer offered by ultimaker shotp. I did not measure the amount of plastic required because we do not have all the parts yet but I would expect very low price for the enclosure itself.

I am working on the enclosure together with 3D designer Sungreen. He has made it with Blender. All the mechanical and electronic parts are similar to what is described here. We are going to make all the models available as soon as we print and test all parts. I am targeting the beginning of August for it.

This is exactly the idea! ;-) I was somehow tired from cutting and drilling the standard plastic box. Despite all the efforts the results were visually not appealing and it takes too much time to complete. That is why I decide to give 3D printing a try. The results so far are very promising.
