Defective Botboardiuno?

I recently bought a Botboardiuno off of Amazon (Sold by Robotshop). When I plugged the Botboardiuno into my laptop (Windows 10) I keep receiving errors notifications that says “USB device not recognized.” On the board LED D4, D3, D6 would blink in sequence in that order and TX would blink every so often and the speaker would make soft clicking sounds.

Is the product defective? Should I return it?

@binsoxo Welcome to the RobotShop Community.

  1. Is the VL jumper set to USB (USB power) to EXT (external power)
  2. Can you manually install the FTDI VCP drivers?
  3. Try a different USB cable and USB port? Is there a chance you’re using a charging cable as opposed to a data cable?

If one of these does not resolve the issue, can you provide a clear photo of the board and all connections?

Tried all of the above. Didn’t work.

The BotBoarduino is normally incredibly reliable and there are very few issues, but not 100.0% without issue, so we’ll assume something is wrong with the board. The setup as you have seems correct, so if the computer is not even detecting the FTDI, something’s up.

We’ll transfer this ticket to internal support where someone will reach out to you via email asking for your order number so they can approve an RMA.

Sorry for any inconvenience.
