I have a Lynx SES robotic arm robot arm that I have been using for about one year. Recently, the servo in the elbow joint, an HS 645, has stopped working. I moved the servo cable to a different position on the controller to make sure the SSC-32 controller wasn’t the problem. Still no operation.
My questions:
is it normal for these servos to fail after about a year of use?
does the servo have any “user serviceable” components? That is, if I take the servo apart are there things I can check for and try and repair the device?
best regards,
Joe
It’s not unusual to have a servo die, especially one that’s under a large load like the shoulder servo. There is a replacement gear set for the servo, but beyond that there are no user serviceable parts inside the servo.
