Dc motor

Hello im replacing the dc motor on my daughters quad it has a hy 390 dc 6v rpm 15k but it burn out. An i want to replace it with another motor with 12v. Im looking at the banebot rs 540 12v 16k. Would this work as an upgrade?

Before changing a motor there is actually a lot to consider:

  • Dimensions: If even some of the dimensions are off, it may not work. Most important dimensions to consider are the output shaft diameter, motor diameter and motor mounting.
  • Controller / Current: If you change motors, it may be more powerful than the existing motor controller can control, causing it to fry.
  • Nominal voltage: If the original motoro operate at a voltage which is different than the replacement, it may cause the motor to heat up, or operate very inefficiently

It’s hard to know what motor would be an upgarde without knowing the full specs of the original.
