I need to replace a non-functioning, 3-AA batteries powered dc motor with a stamp info “CR3” “RU”. No other markings. It’s for a Christmas decoration of 2 snowmen that sing, dance & vibrates. It looks exactly like product code: RB-Spa-1066 on this site. But it’s rating is for 1-3v. Is a 3 AA battery pack 4.5v? What else can I learn from the motor and what do I need to replace it. Thank you. J
Hey! If you have a multimeter on hand, you could probe the motor while it is being powered. You’d have a good idea of what voltage it needs. The batteries could be in series or in parallel or there could be a circuit which alter the voltage.
OK, yea, I’ve got one. Will reconnect (jumper wire) to battery pack and test the voltage. With 3-AA (1.5v) should my reading be around 4.5 volts? Thanks.
If the batteries are in series, yes. If they are in parallel, you will read 1.5V.
