Is it possible to add position sensors to any dc motor? I want to buy 2 standard geared ones but am not sure if I would be better of buying a set of motors with postion sensor included. For now I don't really need them but it would be nice if would be able to use them in the future.

You can add a variety of sensor to a motor to allow you to calculate its current position, the main factor in deciding what type of sensor to use depends on whether you need to know the absolute angular position, or just the relative angular position.

Great, motors will be used to drive the bot arround. I’ll just get the standard motors and add sensors later.
