DC Motor controller for cordless drill motor

Hi guys,

Which motor controller would you recommend that can be used with an Arduino Uno for two cordless drills 12 or 18V DC motors. I would like to power the motors from a corded mains power supply.

I am new to all this and am not sure which one to select. I believe these motors can draw a lot of amps at start up and if they stall but do not know which motor controller would be capable of handling 2 of these motors. Which mains 12v power supply (for UK use) should I use to deliver enough amps for 2 of these motors?

Thanks for your help.

Jim

Good day to you,

Like you said, the current specifications are really important when choosing your motor driver.

If the motor driver you choose can handle more current than the motors need, it’s fine but if it the current it can take is lower than the rated current draw of your motors, that is a problem.

Without knowing the current draw of your motors it is impossible for us to suggest the right motor driver. If you can find this informations we will be able to suggest the right parts for your projects.

Sincerely,
