Darwin Mini doesn't save offset adjustment

When turning on the Darwin Mini, it moves and twists itself up. When I go to offset adjustment and set mini to correct posture, I click on Init Offset button to reset offset values to 0 and click download to save settings, but it doesn’t seem to save the results. I have tried several times in offset button to correct values and several times, one of the legs twists up without any input from me. What am I doing wrong? This is my first assembly. Any help would be appreciated.

I had 2 mistakes on the ankles I believe and fixed them with no problems. The other 2 problems were with xl-320 actuactors id 9 and id 10. Looking at step 50, I moved the double marks 180 degrees to the position opposite step 3’s flat white plate spu-5. The 2 marks on the illustration aim toward the step 3 flat white plate spu-5. Then the Darwin worked okay. No one else has mentioned this correction, but it worked for me and there is no noise now when my smartphone connects to it. And the offset adjustment works correctly.

Hi,

We have contacted the manufacturer and asked them about this issue. We will contact you as soon as we get a reply.

Hi,

We have received the following reply from the manufacturer :

"* The most likely reason that the robot is twisting into a weird position (often ankle joints 15 and 16) is because the servo horns are not oriented properly. *
*Sometimes, the servos also flash red if the horns aren’t oriented properly. *

*The horn is the black circle on the servo. If you look carefully, you should see slits on the horn. *
*In a factory condition servo, one slit is at the top of the horn, two slits are on the opposite side, as indicated by the picture below. *
Please make sure that you check the horn orientation of all the servos as you may damage your servo if it is oriented incorrectly.

1) Please check steps 24-38 to build the feet. Please pay particular attention to the orientation of the servos on steps 24, 30, 32, and 38.

*2) Please check step 53 for the correct orientation of servos 7, 8, 9, and 10 (ID 7, 8, 9, and 10). *

*3) Please check steps 62-67 to build the leg correctly. Please pay particular attention to the orientation of the servos on steps 62, 64, 65, and 67. *

4) These are the call-out boxes that you need to be aware of. They are outlined in red.

*5) Please make sure that the arm and shoulder servos are correct by checking steps 68-71. *

*6) Once you have built everything correctly, the red lights should stop blinking and the robot should stop twisting into weird positions. *
*Then, run the app, go to “Settings” and click on “Motion Offset.” Click on “Init Offset” then click on “Download.” *
*You should then be able to control your robot with your Android device. *"

Please let us know how it goes.
