Dagu Robot Chassis Steering

Problems with the steering. It's too tight. The motor won't even turn. My model has 3 flat spurrs set up in the steering. 1 for the feedback pot and one for the turning axis, and 1 for the motor. When they are linked together it gets too tight and the motor tries to spin, but it can't.

Do I need to return it and get another one..

Do I need to have replacement parts sent to me....

Should I send it back and get a different car to map with my Micro Magician Motor controller....

Is there anyway to troubleshoot this issue and make it work without sending it back?

RTFM?

I’m not sure how helpful this will be, as I don’t actually HAVE a UGV robot chassis. The manual, however, can be found HERE, and if you go to Step 7 on Page 6 it looks to me like the 50-tooth spur gear next to the motor (the one with the spacer underneath) goes on BEFORE the 60-tooth gear in the middle (the one with the steering stopper bolt). By looking at the illustration in the manual it looks like the middle gear (60T) has a smaller gear on one side that should engage with the 50T gear you put on first (next to the motor).

At the end of the day I think, comparing your picture to that of the manual, that you simply put the two gears on in the wrong order. That should give the middle gear enough slack to not bind so tightly to the final gear. Hope this helps, let me know if I need to be more clear.

great explaination… Thank

great explaination… Thank you for spelling it out for me. I looked closer at the picture and you’re right. I’ll put it together that way, and hopefully it will work correctly. Thanks
