I am interested in ordering the Dagu 4WD Thumper 75:1 kit. Do these motors come with encoders, if not, can these motors be used with encoders. Also is there anymore documentation on this product? I read that the suspension system is adjustable… Lastly, are these dimensions for the chassis accurate? I need it to be less than 1’x1’.
Any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately no and no… the 4WD Thumper design is such that the underside is pretty much fixed. We suggest an IMU, compass / GPS (if used outdoors) setup to get your location. You may be able to hack the kit or create your own custom encoder setup which fits each wheel.
The product itself is fairly straightforward since it does not have any electronics. What documentation would you be looking for? We’ll do our best to help. The suspension is probably adjustable by adjusting the cables underneath, grated this makes the wheels roll at an angle, so it’s not suggested or really necessary.
It’s 29.7cm wide x just less than 30cm long - it’s really tight but should be acceptable.
