Hi,
I’m searching for a low cost chassis for electronics and AI prototyping. What I need is a simple mechanical design which includes wheels and motors.
I think the dagu 2wd and the polulu chassis could fit to my need but I don’t know which one to choose. Here are the links where you can find them :
robotshop.com/eu/pololu-round-robot-chassis-kit-5.html
robotshop.com/eu/dagu-2wd-begginners-robot-chassis.html
Moreover, I can’t find the size of the Dagu’s chassis (even if I think it may be similar to the polulu).
So, has anyone already used one of them ? What do you think about them ? What major differences are there ? Which one would you recommend ?
Thanks for your help.

PS : sorry if my English is’nt very good, but it’s not my mothertongue.
Well… I think I should have posted this thread at the “robot kits and developpement plateforms” forum.
Sorry :S
Maybe an administrator can fix my mistake ?
Hi,
Thanks for your fast answer
Is there anywhere I can find the specs of the Dagu’s motors and gears (speed, torque…) ? I think it will be the most significant selection criterion…
All right. Thanks for all these information.
I guess I did’nt look good enough
Hi e_lectronaute,
Welcome to the RobotShop Forum. We welcome messages here in English, French and Spanish, though your message was perfectly clear. The Pololu Round Robot Chassis Kit has been around for quite some time and uses the Tamiya twin motor gearbox, a pair of tires and a ball caster, all connected to a round chassis with a variety of connection points. The Tamiya motors and ball casters need to be assebmled. The Dagu 2WD Beginner Robot Chassis is much newer and uses two fully assembled geared motors connected to two large wheels, and two ball casters for support. The Dagu chassis has holes for only one microcontroller (the Dagu equivalent of the DFRobot ROMEO) and also requires assembly. The Dagu chassis is 80mm high, 110mm long and 135mm wide (total). You need to solder leads to both motors of both kits.
We look forward to hearing from the community as well,
The motors used on the Dagu 2WD chassis are product code RB-Dag-12. We list all the specifications we can in the description and useful links.
• Suggested voltage: 3V DC
• No Load Speed: 65 +/- 10rpm
• No Load Current: 125mA (max.170mA)
• Torque: 800gf.cm
If you missed the information, then it is likely other people missed it as well. We welcome and appreciate your feedback.
