I’m giving a look at the Dagu 2WD Chassis (https://eu.robotshop.com/products/dagu-2wd-chassis-kit-wooden).
It is not clear from the description if the encoder is integrated in the motor or is an external encoder (that needs of additional component).
Also I can not find the schematic for the electical connection, noor the producer and model of the motor (so eventually I do the connections by myself).
I want to control this system utilinf also the encoder feedback. It this product is not for this purpose, does someone can suggest me another model?
thanks and regards,
Piero
Hi @pfoglia and welcome to our forum!
Dagu 2WD Chassis only has encoder disks and I couldn’t find any wiring schemes.
Maybe you could use some better like these ones:
Feel free to ask anything else.
the Yahboon mini robot can be driven by a TB1666 (at 3.3 v)?
For me 4WD is too much (I prefer a 2WD design). No WD design with encoders?
Is it possible to put a caster wheel in the Yahboon mini robot, or replace in it two WD with free-spinning wheels (if they are available on the site)?
Hi @pfoglia ,
Isn’t this TB1666 a driver but for stepper motors?
I don’t see Yahboom mini that is 2WD with caster wheel, but I’ve found this one:
This one has servo motors instead of brushed DC motors with encoder.
The Dagu 2WD Chassis you’re looking at doesn’t seem to come with a built-in encoder in the motor itself, at least not according to the product description. You can buy external encoders that attach to the motors. For instance, you could use incremental encoders and mount them on the wheels or directly to the motor shaft if it supports that.
