Cytron SmartDrive Duo Thermal and overcurrent protection

I was planning on using one of the Cytron SmartDriveDuo Smart Dual Channel 60A Motor Driver( Product Code : RB-Cyt-169)

for an art installation that involves pulling a sculpture under water and then letting it back up again very slowly. And I had a few questions about the motor driver.

I saw in the manual that it had over voltage and over temperature protection but was concerned about a spike in amperage. I was wondering if it offered any type of thermal and over current protection?

If it does have over current protection, will it reset automatically or does it require a manual reset?

If not, can anyone suggest a good alternative? I was thinking maybe the Sabertooth Dual 60A Motor Driver.

Any informations would be great.
Thanks!

Q1) I was wondering if it offered any type of thermal and over current protection?
A1) On page 13 of the user guide for the Cytron SmartDriveDuo, you can see how they implement safety.

Q2) If it does have over current protection, will it reset automatically or does it require a manual reset?
Ex (from the manual): e. Shutdown will occur when SmartDriveDuo -60 temperature become too high (temperature > 105C). As a result, motor will stop automatically. The driver for respective channel starts operate again when temperature decrease less than 70C

Q3) If not, can anyone suggest a good alternative?
A3) The Sabertooth is an excellent alternative and does include safety.

Hope this provides some direct answers.
