Cytron ESP8266 WiFi Shield not connecting to S7

Hi,

I am trying to connect my Cytron WiFi network to my Galaxy S7, but it just says "ready to connect when network quality improves’. I have connected my computer to the network with no troubles, but it is heavy to drag around. Any ideas? Thanks.

I am trying to use an Arduino Uno R3 with a Cytron ESP8266 WiFi Shield, and it only transmits data when plugged into a computer. I have tried a USB power pack, a phone, and the power supply included with the Arduino, but I only get wifi connectivity, not data transfer. The phone will receive data if the arduino is plugged into the computer. Thanks.

Hi,

How did you configure the network on the Cytron ESP8266 WiFi Shield ? What Arduino sketch did you use ? Could you also provide a picture showing your setup ?

I don’t have the sketch handy, but I have determined that the issue was that I had mobile data on and the phone was trying to connect through the web, not just the wifi network. I have solved the problem by using an old phone with wifi only. Thanks for offering to help!

I am trying to reply to the post I made about the arduino only connecting with computer power. I have determined that my other power sources are not adequate to power the wifi shield, which makes me wonder if there is a power supply available that I should have purchased with this arduino and wifi shield combination? Thanks.
