Cutter for the Shapeoko XL to cut the guitar fretboard slot

Hi!

Where can I get the cutter for cutting the freboard slot, I didn’t find any this site
the slot Width 0.023in/0.58mm and 0.062in deep

Hi alainst1958,

This is very small, you might want to look at the Carbide3D 0.5mm, 0.7mm, 0.9mm PCB Drills (10pk) or source something elsewhere like a 0.5mm End Mill.
If you are using a router with a 1/4" collet only we suggest to get the Carbide3D Makita Precision Reducing Collet 1/4" to 1/8".

Thanks, I never use a CNC before , I plan to get the XL soon, I guest using the 5mm and do multi pass to get the .584 mm is a good way to do this, so I do not have to chase around the .023" bit.
What do you think?

That’s exactly how to do it, using a smaller than the groove tool and do multiple pass.
