Current Consumption of the Phoenix?

Hello All,

Has anyone ever measured the current consumption at 6V for a Phoenix + SSC-32 + 645MG(18 of them) + BB2 (with Atom Pro 28) ?

If anyone has any peak, average, and idle (Phoenix is standing but not moving) data they can share with me, that’ll be great!

Hi,

You can find some values in my T-Hex thread where both Jim and I did some current measuring. And we both used the same old Fluke multimeter…

It will give you a little feeling of what you are dealing with.

Thanks Kare! As always, you are such a resource!

The reason why I ask is I was waiting for the Turnigy 8A BEC to be in stock, and since the distributor stocked them, I horded them in quantities for my current and future robotics.

I was wondering how many I should put on, since I saw that you put two in parallel for yours.

Does the thing run pretty hot? I was thinking of splitting the current in two ways by using two to keep each unit’s temperature down and feeding each half to each of the two banks of power on the SSC-32…

I’m waiting for some HXT connectors right now for the LiPo that i"m going to be feeding my Phoenix. I can’t wait what the Phoenix can do with some switching regulated solid 6V fed by a 4000mAH 40C LiPo!

I think the LiPo was an overkill for my little Phoenix but I figured that it can double-duty in my RC cars which WILL be able to use 40C on the straightaways!
