Counter rotating brushless motor

hi...

I want to make a quadrotor, and I bough 4 brushless dc motors and 5 propellers, and I'm gonna buy more stuff...

and in this new order I'm gonna make I'll proably need to buy the counter rotating propellers... but I was thinking... can I just plug the motors wires in oposite direction so that they make the oposite turn?

I mean, I saw the brushless motors controll diagram, I believe if you change the wires, you are able to get them counter rotating, and them I would not need other propellers...

But I don't know if it's really this way... or even if it is, if the motor is able to do this with the same speed, life time, stability, etc

does anyone know about this?

Well you do just switch the

Well you do just switch the wires in order to get the motors to spin in the opposite direction. You still need counter rotating propellers for the motors spinning counter clockwise.

hm

why?

I mean, I get 2 motors put it clockwise and 2 counter clockwise… with same propellers… I can go right? for brushless motors? (3 phase)

Well if you spin a clockwise

Well if you spin a clockwise propeller counter clockwise then it is not creating lift, rather it is pushing your quadcopter down. Also you can not flip the propellers over. They were made to work 1 way.

hmmmmmmmmmmm

ohh… so 2 motors need to CW and 2 counter CW but all the propellers should push the air down so that the quad can go up? hmm… I didn’t know that…so it’s just reversing the orientation of the propellers but not changing the “air push” … thx =)

You can try that and you can

2 props blow upward and other 2 blow downward. You think that’s gonna fly? You need 2 pair of props, one regular pair and  one counter props, period.
