If I convert my Hexo+ drone from flying only programmed patterns to also fly manually, will it be feasible to do mapping and building inspections? What components would I need to allow me use Pix4d, Drone Deploy etc. I’m new to drones and have very limited knowledge in this area. TIA.
@MKJAMES1 Thank you for contacting RobotShop. It does not seem like the Hexo+ has an API to allow you to program it as you’d like. Have you seen otherwise? It does not seem to have any sensors for mapping, nor any I/O to add sensors. As such, what you’re looking to do seems entirely custom and would require “hacking” the drone, which is not easy. Its additional payload capabilities are also unknown, so adding a Lidar, additional microcontroller etc. will affect its flight characteristics and much more.
