what would you suggest for a brushless motor to rotate our 20 kg weapon? at 6000rpm

Hi @hells_paradise and welcome to our forum!

To find a suitable BLDC motor for this application, it would be good to know torque needed to rotate this 20kg weapon at 6000RPM.

The basic formula for torque ((\tau)) is:

[ \tau = I \cdot \alpha ]

Where:

  • (\tau) is the torque in Newton-meters (Nm).
  • (I) is the moment of inertia in kg·m².
  • (\alpha) is the angular acceleration in radians per second squared (rad/s²).

To calculate the moment of inertia accurately, you’ll need information on the shape and mass distribution of the weapon. If you can provide these details we could make this simple calculation.
