I have a robot which I built recently, and I am now going to add the 4 DOF arm to it (servo erector set). I am not certain which electronics to use and how to control the arm wirelessly. can anyone please tell me how to do this and what electronics I should use as well as the mechanical parts for this set. I would appreciate it a lot.
Unlike most forums, this one is small.
Since we only get about 30 posts a day, most members read them all.
So there’s no real reason to post in multiple topics.
Let’s see…
There’s no real assembly guide or parts list for a 4DOF Servo Erector Set arm, yet.
At the beginning, the SES was made like legos.
You buy some, play with them, and figure out how the get put together.
The assembly guides are only a recent addition.
I can, however, give you a better idea of what you’ll need.
For every servo, you’re probably going to need an ASB-04.
Those encapsulate a servo and allow other brackets to attach directly to it.
To connect servos together and give them a joint to bend at, you’ll need “C” brackets.
You’ll probably use ASB-09, but there are a variety of other “C” brackets that you might prefer more.
And, you’ll need a gripper.
Right now, there’s no large SES gripper (the one on the site is made out of lexxan.
However, you can easily devise your own.
I agree, cross posting is not good practice, especially since this forum has moderate traffic like Mr. Reiser pointed out.
With any bot project, careful planning is key. This is not something to jump into and start slapping parts together. You need to figure out what the main goal is and work off that. In my case, I chose to focus all of my attention on the head design and functionality as my primary goal. Every day I review my design and change/tweak things as I discover new problems, new ideas, etc. Had I jumped into things and rushed things along, I would have a nice collection of paper weights for my desk at this point.
