I am building multiple animatronic firgures that will be conrtolled by the ssc-32. They are going to be portable and displayed outdoors. I want to use wifi to control all of them. i was wondering if anyone had sugestions for how to control multiple ssc-32s from the same program. I was thinking that if they all think they are the same controller then i could send the same command to all of them. I would them just use different servo outputs for each figure. I.e. 0-4 for the first, 5-8 for the second ect. That way they are always in sync. Sound feasable?

Hello West,
This sounds like a fun project! I am not sure if you have selected a Wireless interface yet, but you could use our 802.11 Wireless Solution based on the Lantronix WiPort. It has two serial ports on it and you could attach two SSC-32’s to it and send identical to both ports serial ports.
Otherwise your idea of using 0-4 and 5-8 would be just fine. You would need to use a group move to move 0+5, 1+6, … at the same time.
Sincerely,

I would say that visual basic would be a easy programming language to use to communicate to your devices. All you need is to get a wireless chip like the one that amtel makes. There are many so pick one that you can get alnog with. As far as programming it in VB is is a snap and would only take a few minutes to develope. That is why it is the most popular language out there. Just make sure that you include the 13 on the string when sending out the data through serial/usb ports.

Lol!
Perhaps you can do it in a few minutes, but the rest of us humans take a bit longer.

I recommend the easy radio modules.
