Controlling Dual Channel Motor Driver with Arduino/RPi

Hi all,

I’m hoping to use this motor driver robotshop.com/en/cytron-10a … river.html for a project using the Iron Man 2 Chassis. I will be controlling it using either an Arduino or Raspberry Pi, so does anyone know whether the PWM will take 5V or 3.3V?

Thanks,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

You’d probably want to have a look at the on the product page for the RB-Cyt-153 under Specifications. According to the manufacturer, the logic input is 3-5.5 V DC, so you should have no issue with most microcontrollers.

This motor driver is a great choice since the reported stall current (under specifications) for the Ironman 2 RB-Knr-02] four DC motors is 4 A per motor.
Therefore, you should have no issue running this platform at full power with the RB-Cyt-153.

That being said, since your motor driver can easily handle the stall current of your motors, be careful not to enter (or stay in stall too long if you do), otherwise you can easily break your motors since the motor driver can deliver the current needed for stall at a continuous rate!

Good luck with your project!

Sincerely,
