Controling Serial Servo

I will be beginning building my next robot and I have stumbled upon robotshop.ca/uptech-cds-5500-serial-robot-servo-robotis-compatible.html. To save me possible confusion and problems in the future, I want to ask how I would connect this servo to a laptop, and how would I connect them all to one bus lane. I am used to using PWM control but the features of the serial servo caught my attention and would solve a lot of problems I have been having with previous builds.

I downloaded the software and the manual to help me see if this will be a good solution for me but an english version is unavailable, making all of that useless. Is an english translation of the manual and software available?

In order to connect serial servos to your computer, you will need the Uptech Servo Debugger board. It connects directly to a USB port and allows you to access all of the servo’s functions.

Connecting the servos to a bus mainly means connecting them all to the same communication signals. The communication protocol will then help you distinguish one servo from another (since you can assign a specific address to each one of them).

We have contacted the manufacturer in order to obtain the English version for the manual and software.

We will let you know as soon as we get an answer.

Also, in the meantime, you might want to consider the HUV Robotics USB Bus Dynamixel Interface Board. It offers very similar functionality.
